The Pond in January..

This is the snowiest and coldest winter I can remember...another couple months of it so I'll make the most of it and continue painting local scenes. I imagine the water is frozen solid under the snow, but no one is venturing to walk on it, so neither will I. Bright, crisp and clear day. Acrylic....7 x 9.

On a sad note...artist Andrew Wyeth has died at the age of 91. What a wonderful inspiration he was when I first started to paint many years ago. I poured over his prints for hours.

"I believe one's art goes as far and as deep as one's love goes. I see no reason for painting but that." .... Andrew Wyeth

I agree with you about the winter. Normally, as a hearty Canadian, love the wonter months. This year it started way too soon and hasn't given us a break since.

Still, if it is responsible for these beautiful paintings, it's been a small price to pay.
